Ready to testify at Bond Commission whenever necessary-PM

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says he is ready to testify before the Presidential Commission inquiring into the Central Bank bond scam whenever necessary.

In a statement issued by his office today, the Premier said since it was mentioned about the Prime Minister during the hearings at the Presidential Commission, he is ready to explain the matters to the commission at any time.

“Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is prepared to offer clarifications at any time to the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into bond auctions in view of references to him during proceedings,” a statement said.

“In line with the mandate given by the people on January 8, 2015 to re-establish good governance and democracy, the government had always investigated allegations made against it or its employees and the Prime Minister’s Office confirm that same procedure will be followed in the future,” the statement said.
