Prime Minister plans to introduce cloud-based Smart Classroom in all country-wide schools

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says the government has taken steps to set up an education that suits the 21st century. He made this remark when he inspected the ‘Smart Classroom’ at the Sri Jayewardenepura Maha Vidyalaya Friday.

Sri Lanka’s first cloud-based Smart Classroom was inaugurated at the Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte Maha Vidyalaya in January this year according to a concept of the Ministry of Education.

Education is provided to students here using modern technology. The Prime Minister inspected how without traditional teaching and learning methods, Smart whiteboards and tablet computers are used in the Smart System to provide education to children.

The Premier said that in the future the internet-based learning method ‘Smart Classroom’ system will be introduced in all the schools country-wide.
