President vows to protect war heroes

President Maithripala Sirisena  vowed not to let any foreign entity to try island nation’s war heroes who fought against terrorism.

“I will not allow anyone in the world to touch General Jagath Jayasuriya or any other Sri Lankan war hero,” the President said today addressing the Sri Lanka Freedom Party 66th anniversary celebrations held at the Campbell Grounds in Colombo today.

“I saw an issue regarding former Army Commander Jagath Jayasuriya. It’s not a problem in this country. It’s an issue over the sea. By the way, I’m not ready to dance to the tunes of NGOs. I work with the non-governmental organizations that love this country, “the President said.

He said the problems the country is facing now are the consumer prices, cost of living, unemployment etc. and these are simple when compared with the problems the country had before the international community and resolvable.

The President said despite the criticism, those this government has saved the country from the accusations before the international community.
