Sri Lanka Navy Tuesday handed over another five Indian fishing trawlers back to India on completion of repair work.
The five Indian fishing trawlers were seized by the Sri Lanka Navy for poaching in the Sri Lankan territorial waters.
The 5 Indian trawlers were escorted to the IMBL north of Kankasanthurai by the Sri Lanka Navy Ships Parathapa and Edithara II and handed over to the Indian Coast Guard Ships Abheek and Ameya.
The Navy on 30 September handed over 7 Indian fishing trawlers back to India, having made repairs to them.
Sri Lankan authorities in July this year announced the release of 77 Tamil Nadu fishermen, who were arrested on charges of crossing the IMBL and the 42 boats seized from them.
