The National Buildings Research Organisation (NBRO) yesterday issued warnings to the four districts of possible landslides prone areas. They are likely to experience over 100 ml rainfall.
The districts are Kalutara, Kegalle, Ratnapura and Galle.
The areas marked as prone to landslides are Agalawatte, Bulathsinhala, Palindanuwara in Kalutara district, Yatiyantota in Kegalle District, Kuruwita in Ratnapura district and Neluwa in the Galle District.
The NBRO advised those living in those areas to look for pre-landslide signs of trees or posts being twisted, appearance of cracks on the ground, buildings or parapet walls, flowing of muddy water from the surface or waterways.
