The government will decide on suspending or continuing the Uma Oya Multi-purpose development project following recommendations of the Norwegian experts.
This was disclosed by the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Minister and State Minister of Mahaweli Development Mahinda Amaraweera said at a progress review meeting held on Monday.
Members of the ministerial subcommittee appointed to investigate the problems related to the project including Minister Vijith Vijayamuni Soysa and officials representing all relevant fields attended the meeting held in Badulla District Secretariat today.
Ministers and officials paid an observation visit to Uma Oya project area. They focused their attention on existing problems and present activities of the project.
