Police media spokesperson Superintendent of Police Ruwan Gunasekara says that suspects including former Navy Media Spokesman Commodore D.K.P Dassanayake were arrested in connection to the disappearance of 11 youth following a comprehensive investigation.

He said Dassanayake was arrested following an investigation conducted into a complaint lodged by the former Navy Commander admiral Wasantha Karannagoda, who was the commander during the Rajapaksa government when the abductions took place.

Attending a media briefing held at the Government Information Department in Colombo today, the Police spokesperson said there is clear evidence pertaining to the suspects arrested over the involvement of the disappearances on 11 youth between the years of 2008 and 2009.
