Speculation is rife in political circles that Minister Tilak Mapapana will be appointed Acting Foreign Minister following Ravi Karunanayake’s resignation yesterday.   Sources said that the President could exercise the powers of the foreign ministry until an appointment was made. Karunanayake succeeded foreign minister Mangala Samaraweera in May this year.
