A supplement titled ‘Bihidora’ was launched today (15) to inform the public about the tasks and activities of the primary industries ministry.
Minister Daya Gamage was the chief guest on the occasion, at the auditorium of Lake House, where its general manager Abhaya Amaradasa received the first copy.
The supplement will be issued with Dinamina newspaper on the 16th of every month.
Speaking at the launch, minister Gamage said plans have been made by his newly-created ministry with the prime objective of doubling export revenue by 2020.
The plans will be implemented with support from the private sector, he said.
He stressed that production needed to be increased in order to ease the debt burden left to the country by the previous regime.
Deputy minister Dr. Anoma Gamage, primary industries ministry secretary Bandula Wickramarachchi and others participated.
